ARBUTIN + KOJIC ACID: Dual Brightening Agents · Tyrosinase Inhibition
Two clinically recognized tyrosinase inhibitors work together.
TYROSINASE: The enzyme responsible for excess melanin production in melanin-rich skin — the biological driver of dark spots, post-acne marks, ingrown hair discoloration, and friction-induced darkening.
Arbutin inhibits tyrosinase directly — a slow, consistent signal to the skin to reduce melanin overproduction in the treated area. Clinically validated as safe and effective for Fitzpatrick IV, V, and VI skin types.
Kojic acid works through a different mechanism — chelating the copper ions that tyrosinase requires to function. Together, these two ingredients address melanin overproduction from two separate biochemical angles simultaneously.
MANDELIC ACID + LACTIC ACID + GLUCONOLACTONE: Multi-Acid Exfoliation Complex Three acids chosen specifically for melanin-rich skin — not the most aggressive brightening acids, but the ones that deliver effective exfoliation with the lowest irritation risk for Fitzpatrick IV, V, and VI.
Mandelic acid: largest molecular structure of the three — slowest, most controlled penetration. Ideal for melanin-rich skin because the reduced irritation risk means significantly lower PIH risk from the exfoliation itself.
Lactic acid: hydrating AHA that resurfaces while maintaining moisture in the skin — particularly important for the underarm and bikini areas where skin is thinner and more reactive.
GLUCONOLACTONE PHA (polyhydroxy acid): — the gentlest of the three. Provides antioxidant protection alongside exfoliation and is particularly well tolerated by sensitive and reactive skin.
Together, these three acids resurface the skin surface gradually — removing the layers of dead skin cells where accumulated pigmentation sits and revealing the clearer skin developing beneath.
TRANEXAMIC ACID: Discoloration Reduction + Prevention Tranexamic acid disrupts the communication between keratinocytes and melanocytes — interrupting the signal that transfers excess melanin to the skin surface where it appears as a dark spot.
Particularly effective for the friction-induced darkening in the underarm and bikini area — where chronic low-grade inflammation creates persistent discoloration that does not respond fully to exfoliation alone.
FERULIC ACID: Antioxidant Stabilization + Enhancement stabilizes and enhances the full brightening complex — extending the efficacy of the dual tyrosinase inhibitors while providing additional antioxidant protection against the oxidative stress that accelerates pigmentation in melanin-rich skin.
